Pinup by Liz tips: Where to shop for your pinup shoot

One of the biggest questions I hear from clients who are interested in booking shoots is "where do I buy clothes for my shoot?" I can help you with that!

First, I want everyone to know that since we moved to our new studio in January, we now have the ability to offer wardrobe services to our clients.  We have an ever-growing selection of vintage and reproduction pinup clothing and shoes for our clients to choose from when they book a shoot with us.  So you actually don't have to buy anything for your shoot if you don't want to!

Even with the wardrobe available, many clients like to purchase their own clothing for their shoots.  So here's a list of some great places to shop!

I always recommend to shop small and local, and luckily we have many options for both in the pinup world!  My favorite shop in Tulsa to buy reproduction vintage clothing is Volupte. Not only do they carry some of the most popular brands in pinup fashion, the shop is beautiful and provides a fun shopping experience! If authentic vintage is what you want, we have that in Tulsa too! Check out Cheap Thrills and Vintage Vault.  Both have a great selection of vintage clothing!  If you're coming from Oklahoma City, check out Bad Granny's and Dig It! Both are shops in OKC with some really neat vintage clothing!

Speaking of local, we also have some great local artists who sell pinup style accessories online! You can get great confetti lucite style jewelry from Flirty Foxx Designs or Kawaii Buddies, and Betty's Stems and The Dame Okies make great hair flowers and fascinators!

And then there are some great national and international sites where you can buy new, reproduction pinup style clothing, and most of these companies carry clothing to fit and flatter all bodies, from size 0 - 22!   Some of my favorites are Steady Clothing, Unique Vintage, ModCloth, Pinup Girl Clothing, Eshakti, Silly Old Sea Dog, Fables by Barrie, Bernie Dexter, Stop Staring Clothing, and Lindy Bop.  For corsets, I recommend Orchard Corset

If it's authentic vintage you're looking for, there are a ton of sources online.  Ebay and Etsy are very big sources. On ebay you can often find many of the big name pinup models selling from their own wardrobe.  Cherry Dollface does this regularly.  One of my favorite Etsy vintage clothing shops is Butchwax Vintage.  Instagram has also become a huge source for vintage shopping! A couple of my favorite accounts there are @my1950svintageshop and @swellfarewell.

I hope that helps you shop for some vintage or vintage style clothing for your shoots!   To book a shoot with Pinup by Liz, email me at!
